The Yokohama S. Drive promises to break out of that mold by providing a comfortable and smooth UHP driving experience at a cost-effective price tag.
Ultra-high performance tires tend to be some of the most capable options on the market when it comes to aspects such as steering response, traction, and cornering. However, these tires tend to lack in the comfort department, but the S.Drive could possibly break out of the mold.
In this review, we go over everything you need to know about the tire, from its strengths and weaknesses to its sizes, specs, pricing, and more, so stick around.

Yokohama S. Drive (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
The popular Yokohama S. Drive features a unique silica-infused tread compound that flaunts a directional design for reliable traction on dry and wet terrain. The tire is equipped with a center rib that boosts its contact with the ground to maximize grip and handling capabilities.
The S. Drive utilizes Yokohama’s proprietary Groove-in-Groove design, which aids in promoting even tread wear and improves cornering grip. There are broad circumferential grooves for reducing the risk of hydroplaning and enhanced handling on wet surfaces.
The tire is as tough as they come, but interestingly enough, it’s a lot lighter than most of the tires in its class without compromising on durability. The only issue you may have with this tire has to do with road noise. The issue becomes of significance later in the tread’s life, though.

Price
You’d expect the Yokohama S. Drive to be expensive considering its excellent performance, but it’s actually listed at a reasonable starting price point of around $83. Please note, however, that the prices could vary from one dealer to another. Furthermore, the prices will vary based on the size and specs you select. Be on the lookout for special offers such as discounts, rebates, and coupons on this tire.
Warranty
It seems like the Yokohama S. Drive tire isn’t backed by a tread life warranty, but the majority of Yokohama tire models last anywhere between 3 to 4 years, with an annual mileage of 12,000-15,000 miles.
Both workmanship and materials are warranted for a period of 5 years, with free replacements during the first 2/32 inch of wear or first year of use. You also get to enjoy a 30-day trial period during which you can exchange the tire or get a refund if the tire fails to meet your expectations
Yokohama S. Drive Tire Customer Review
Mike T. says: “I’m yet to find a Yokohama tire that I dislike, and I’ve tried quite a few. The S. Drive is arguably the most impressive tire I’ve ever used from Yokohama because it’s very well-rounded in every single department. From stability and responsiveness to traction and comfort, the tire is nothing short of impressive.”

Cade A. says: “I’m a little biased towards Yokohama tires because it’s my go-to brand, but I kid you not, the S. Drive is on par with premium alternatives from the likes of Michelin, Bridgestone, and Goodyear. It’s incredibly comfortable, stable, and quiet. And it’s listed at a very reasonable price point.”
