Yokohama Tires Overall Assessment
Yokohama is one of the most well known and trusted tire brands in the world. This is due, in part, to their historical involvement in motorsport. They have sponsored some of the biggest teams around the globe and supply tires to a variety of different competitions.
What stands out most with regard to Yokohama and their tires over the years Is their quest for innovation. In recent years Yokohama has used their innovative mindset to create tires that are not only great performers on the road, but environmentally friendly too. This has been achieved using advanced rubber compounds and nanotechnology. Across the range Yokohama is known for their braking and cornering abilities, responsiveness to acceleration, good tread life and their capabilities across all seasons.
There are not many downsides when it comes to Yokohama tires as few models have glaring issues. There have been reports that some tires can become noisy, especially after the tread life has worn a little or at high speeds. The price of some models may leave slightly more budget conscious consumers opting for a different option and a small number of models struggle with wet traction. On the whole, there is very little to report on what we don’t like about Yokohama’s and many motorists will be satisfied with their purchase.
A huge emphasis is put on quality when it comes to Yokohama and their tires. Their tires are made from high quality materials which have been sourced over decades through great care and experience.
The quality of their tires is illustrated through their notable performance across several tire categories. A massive feather in Yokohama’s cap when it comes to quality is the various partnerships the manufacturer has enjoyed with leading companies and competitions in motorsport.
Yokohama remain a reasonably priced tire over their entire range. Some options may be slightly more expensive than their rivals but rest assured, you are getting a quality engineered product.
A couple of their entry level tires may be more attractive to the budget motorist, but if you are looking for a true balance in overall value it is probably best to start with their mid-range options.
In being one of the world’s leading producers of tires, Yokohama has made it their aim to have a range of tires that extends to many different vehicles. Their range extends from small passenger vehicles to burly SUVs and trucks. All the while making sure quality remains at a premium despite their broad market.
Thanks to their innovative and technological approach to tire design and production, Yokohama have really been able to home in on their tires rolling resistance across the board. They have managed to reduce rolling resistance through their compound structure which is less resistant to the effects of gravity and friction, creating a more fuel-efficient tire.
Their “AVID” range focuses on the reduction of fuel consumption overall and being kinder to the environment.
Yokohama tires are built to last. On average Yokohama’s have a 50,000 mile warranty which is backed by a 30 day trial period. This tire has strong internal structures and is made with quality materials; it will withstand most things thrown at it, or driven on. What is great about these tires is how they carry their performance throughout their life cycle.
This is one of the major focuses of the Japanese Manufacturer. Independent technology is applied to all their different models to ensure the right blend is achieved to provide superior handling.
Advanced compounds, asymmetric tread patterns and strong internal structures are the order of the day when it comes to Yokohama tires. All these factors combine to make sure handling and cornering are at a premium as this remains one of the cornerstones of the company.
