Sumic GT-A Tires (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
Summarise what is great about these tires. What we like / don’t like.
If increased dry traction and enhanced handling response is what you are looking for, then the sumic gt-a tire is a great place to start. The unique symmetrical tread pattern and tread compound has led this tire to be, in our opinion, one of the top UHP models that you might find today.
The tire tread is designed with both extended lateral grooves and circumferential grooves that provide great traction on wet pavement and reduce the risk of hydroplaning.
The sumic gt-a doesn’t have the pitfalls of other low cost tires like a bad wet grip, quite the opposite. The winter traction is still satisfactory in lesser snow, but you may find issues when ranging over heavy wet snow or ice.
Road noise is not an issue at lower speeds but can have a negative impact when travelling at faster speeds. Although the strength and durability of the tread are never in doubt with the dual steel belts. Overall, these tires provide an above average performance in their class for the price they cost.
Pros
- Excellent value for money.
- Very good braking, cornering and dry traction.
- Great cornering stability.
Cons
- Handling and traction in Winter.
- Road noise at higher speeds
