Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 Tires (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
The Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 is designed to perform effectively in both on-road and off-road driving. It boasts an aggressive open tread design that’s computer-modeled to deliver incredible traction on all road types without compromising the car’s passengers’ comfort.
The full length elliptical siping significantly enhances the tire’s grip on wet roads, making this tire an excellent alternative to winter tires.
Moreover, the unique silica-treated rubber compounds and the protruded pattern design allow the tire to effectively eliminate mud and snow, creating a “self-cleaning” function that significantly improves the tire’s performance. The side ribs help get rid of rocks stuck in the tread’s grooves.
Furthermore, the 2-step tread block design improves the tire’s stability and allows for a uniform treadwear to prolong the tire’s life span. Not to mention, it shortens the braking distance to keep you safe. Inside the tire’s outer shell, two steel belts with a nylon overwrap work together to improve the tire load-bearing capacity.
Additionally, the treated upper side walls offer protection against cuts and abrasions, contributing to the tire’s durability. Our only complaint with this tire is that it’s not very quiet, especially when used on dry roads.
Pros:
- Aggressive tread design for off-road traction consistency
- Great dry and wet traction
- Excellent performance in mud and snow
- High durability
- Excellent load-carrying capabilities
Cons:
- Not the best option as a daily driver
- A bit noisy

Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 Tire Customer Review
John M. says: “I’ve installed a new set of the Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 a few days ago and took my Outlander on a few test drives. I could easily notice the improved traction this tire provides, especially when it’s raining. Noise is a big no-no for me, but thankfully, this tire seems to be among the quieter ones. I love the fact that I’m eligible to get a free replacement within a year; gives me that peace of mind, you know”

Hugh Reynold says: “My Duster’s suspension is worn out, and it struggles in off-road conditions. After using the Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 for a while, I was impressed by its comfort. These tires give tremendous support for your car on rough roads. I actually forgot that my suspension system needs to be maintained, but I’ll have to take care of it sooner or later anyway just to be on the safe side.”
