Built mainly for SUVs and 4x4s, the Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 is one of the company’s premium tire models that can deliver a fantastic off-road driving experience. There’s a lot of hype surrounding this tire, but we just had to take a closer look to see what that’s all about.
In this review, we’ll explore everything about the Xtreme MT2 to see whether it’ll live up to the expectations or not to help you make a better buying decision. We’ve also included some helpful information like its available sizes, specs, and prices.
Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 Tires (Our Review)
The Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 is designed to perform effectively in both on-road and off-road driving. It boasts an aggressive open tread design that’s computer-modeled to deliver incredible traction on all road types without compromising the car’s passengers’ comfort.
The full length elliptical siping significantly enhances the tire’s grip on wet roads, making this tire an excellent alternative to winter tires.
Moreover, the unique silica-treated rubber compounds and the protruded pattern design allow the tire to effectively eliminate mud and snow, creating a “self-cleaning” function that significantly improves the tire’s performance. The side ribs help get rid of rocks stuck in the tread’s grooves.
Furthermore, the 2-step tread block design improves the tire’s stability and allows for a uniform treadwear to prolong the tire’s life span. Not to mention, it shortens the braking distance to keep you safe. Inside the tire’s outer shell, two steel belts with a nylon overwrap work together to improve the tire load-bearing capacity.
Additionally, the treated upper side walls offer protection against cuts and abrasions, contributing to the tire’s durability. Our only complaint with this tire is that it’s not very quiet, especially when used on dry roads.
- Aggressive tread design for off-road traction consistency
- Great dry and wet traction
- Excellent performance in mud and snow
- High durability
- Excellent load-carrying capabilities
- Not the best option as a daily driver
- A bit noisy

Being a premium tire model, the Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 has a starting price of a whopping $190. Expect that price to increase significantly with bigger-sized variants and better specs. You can check the price at multiple retailers and pick the lowest one since some retailers usually have these at a fraction of the cost.
The warranty is one of the Pro Comp Xtreme MT2’s strongest points. It comes with a 40,000-mile tread warranty, 2/32” of tire uniformity coverage, and a 6-year service for materials and workmanship. You can also get a free replacement within a year or before the first 2/32” of treadwear.
Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 Tire Customer Review
John M. says: “I’ve installed a new set of the Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 a few days ago and took my Outlander on a few test drives. I could easily notice the improved traction this tire provides, especially when it’s raining. Noise is a big no-no for me, but thankfully, this tire seems to be among the quieter ones. I love the fact that I’m eligible to get a free replacement within a year; gives me that peace of mind, you know”John M. posted (5 / 5) review
Hugh Reynold says: “My Duster’s suspension is worn out, and it struggles in off-road conditions. After using the Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 for a while, I was impressed by its comfort. These tires give tremendous support for your car on rough roads. I actually forgot that my suspension system needs to be maintained, but I’ll have to take care of it sooner or later anyway just to be on the safe side.”Hugh Reynold posted (5 / 5) review
