Nitto NT05 (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
There’s a lot to like and very little to dislike about the Nitto NT05. Let’s start with the things we like. Firstly, the tire features a unique tread compound that’s composed specifically for use on the track and street racing purposes. The tread flaunts an aggressive symmetrical design that looks very appealing and intimidating.
The Nitto NT05 offers superior steering response as well as reliable traction on dry surfaces. When it comes to wet traction, however, the tire can use a lot of improvements, so we don’t recommend using it on wet pavement or in the snow.
Dry traction is further boosted with the aid of a continuous center rib and broad shoulder blocks, which also aid in improving stability. Comfort-wise, the tire can be improved but then again, this is a high-performance tire, so you shouldn’t have high expectations in this department.
Pros:
- Incredible performance on dry surfaces
- Stable performance and great steering
- Excellent cornering even at high speeds
- High-quality tread compound construction
- Can be used for racing and drag uses
Cons:
- Wet traction can use some improvements

Nitto NT05 Tire Customer Review
Carl B. says: “The Nitto NT05 is an exceptional tire, to say the least. Yes, it’s on the more expensive side, but for good reason since it offers an awesome performance on dry pavement. It’s also pretty stable and offers responsive steering. The only thing that feels lacking is good wet traction. Apart from that, this is a very well-rounded tire.”

Joseph T. says: “I’ve been using the Nitto NT05 on my Dodge Avenger for a few weeks now, and I have little to no complaints. As we all know, this isn’t the best tire when it comes to wet traction, which is my only complaint here. However, when it comes to dry traction, this tire reigns supreme. It’s also built like a tank and is very versatile.”
