Kumho Solus TA11 (Our Review)
The Solus TA11 from Kumho has a tire compound that flaunts dual-silicone construction for high traction and durability. The TA11’s compound is able to dissipate heat notably faster than most other silica-fused tread compounds. What does this translate to? Well, it translates to a better grip on dry, wet, and even snowy terrains. It also translates to better tread life and fuel consumption.
The Solus TA11 flaunts Kumho’s proprietary Escot casing, which grants the tire the ability to absorb road shocks effectively, and it helps boost the tread’s durability in general.
The tread has an asymmetric pattern that’s accentuated by round shoulder blocks for improved stability, handling, and steering. The tire is able to maintain reliable traction and grip even at higher speeds, thanks to the increase in the contact patch. There are also waffle sipes that do an excellent job of improving the tire’s bite in the snow and on wet terrains.
The Solus TA11 features wide deep center grooves that aid in channeling the water away from the tread so that it’s not affected by hydroplaning. It also does an excellent job of evacuating the tread from slush so that winter traction isn’t affected.
This tire does display an admirable performance in light snow, but we wouldn’t recommend that you use it in deep snow or on the ice, as it’s not a winter-specific tire.

The Kumho Solus TA11 is listed at a cost-effective starting price of around $52. Bear in mind that the prices of tires vary based on size and specs. They could also vary from one dealer to another. Note that it’s possible to find special offers on this tire, such as coupons, rebates, and discounts, so make sure you keep an eye out for them.
The Solus TA11 is backed by an exceptional 75,000-mile or 6-year warranty on the tread, which is pretty competitive for a tire in this price range. Keep in mind, however, that in the event of the rear tires being different from the front tires in terms of size, the mileage is reduced by 50%.
Uniformity is warranted for the first 2/32 inch of treadwear or the first year of use. Workmanship and materials are warranted for a period of 6 years, with free replacements during the uniformity period.
What’s also special about this warranty policy is that you get a road hazard warranty that covers the first 2/32 inch of wear or first year of use, whichever comes first.
