Goodyear’s Eagle RS-A is one of the most interesting all-season tires on the market today, as it’s classified as a high-performance tire, but it displays a lot of traits that you’d only find in a grand-touring tire, like a sporty driving experience that doesn’t suffer from any compromises as far as comfort.
It’s also worth noting that the Eagle RS-A is a best-selling replacement tire, which should give you an idea of how capable it is, not to mention being relatively cost-effective. Continue reading to learn more about the Goodyear Eagle RS-A.

Goodyear Eagle RS-A (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
According to Goodyear, the Eagle RS-A is designed to deliver a sporty performance with the aid of an advanced tread compound that ensures excellent grip and traction. Being an all-season tire, the Eagle RS-A performs adequately on all terrain types, but we would’ve loved a little bit more traction on dry pavement.
We’re a little disappointed with the tire’s winter handling and traction, though. It’s not that bad, but it’s definitely lacking, so if you live in an area where the roads are often engulfed by snow and ice, you ought to consider a different tire.
When gauging the Eagle RS-A’s winter performance, our point of reference wasn’t a winter tire. We actually compared it to other all-season tires in its class, and as we said, it’s lacking.
The Eagle RS-A shines when it comes to cornering and steering responsiveness. Moreover, it’s very comfortable but does suffer from average road noise, which is to be expected from any tire within its class.
The Eagle RS-A also features wide circumferential grooves that help channel out the water from the contact patch. The use of these grooves helps limit the effects of hydroplaning for improved traction and braking. Overall, we’d rank the RS-A as a mid-range performance all-season tire.

Goodyear Eagle RS-A Tire Customer Review
Michael F. says: “Alright, this might not be a perfect tire, but it certainly offers a great deal of value for the price. It has definitely boosted my car’s (Impreza) cornering, and I’m enjoying how responsive it is.”

Gary R. says: “I live in an area where it’s warm most of the year, so I haven’t gotten the chance to give this tire a go in the snow, but in terms of dry handling, I couldn’t be pleased more, especially at this price point.”
