Goodyear Eagle LS-2 (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
The Eagle LS-2’s premium tread compound flaunts considerable durability and a triple tread block pattern that has a symmetric design for enhanced traction and handling on dry surfaces. Like we already mentioned, the tire features independent tread blocks that aid in improving its steering response and stability.
Although not the best when it comes to tackling wet terrain, the Eagle LS-2 features fairly wide circumferential grooves that help keep the water away from the tire so that it doesn’t affect its handling. The tire also incorporates extra sipes around its tread so that it’s able to tread on light snow.
One of the strongest selling points of this tire is its almost negligible road noise and comfortable ride quality, courtesy of the computer-optimized tread blocks. There are, however, areas where this tire falls short, including traction on wet pavement. The tire tends to slide on wet pavement, which can be extremely dangerous. Also, the handling on wet pavement isn’t very reliable.
We have made several overall assessments in our articles Wrangler MTR with Kevlar Goodyear Review and in the Wrangler RT/S Goodyear Review.
Pros:
- Reliable traction when driving on dry pavement
- Great cornering and highly responsive steering
- More affordable than other options in its class
- Extremely quiet and comfortable riding experience
Cons:
- Traction on wet and snowy terrain isn’t that great

Goodyear Eagle LS-2 Tire Customer Review
Josh M. says: “I’ve been looking for a reliable tire for my Jeep Patriot for quite some time until I found the LS-2. I’ve been informed about the tire’s drawbacks when it comes to winter handling, but it didn’t make much of a difference to me since I live in an area that’s sunny the majority of the year. Excellent value for the price.”

Frank T. says: “I’ve been using the Eagle LS-2 for a few months now. It’s not the best tire I’ve ever tried, but it’s not bad at all, especially when you consider the price. It’s comfortable, quiet, and very stable on dry pavement, not to mention its outstanding cornering.”
