Goodyear is a brand that vaunts impressive lineups of all-season tires, with the Goodyear TripleTred A/S being an excellent example. However, in 2017, the brand decided to push the envelope to the max and put out a tire that would revolutionize its entire catalog of all-season tires, and that tire is the Assurance WeatherReady.
As the name implies, Goodyear’s Assurance WeatherReady was released with the sole purpose of delivering superior traction in all weather conditions.
Can the Assurance WeatherReady tackle slush and snow effectively? More importantly, can it top the performance of the popular TripleTred A/S? This review will answer these questions.

Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
The Assurance WeatherReady utilizes a rubber tread compound that’s optimized to tackle all sorts of weather conditions. The tread also flaunts an asymmetric tread pattern that boosts its traction and handling capabilities on wet and dry terrains.
Like we already mentioned, this tire incorporates some of Goodyear’s latest technologies, one of which is the 3D TredLock technology, which comes in the form of optimized blades that add to the tire’s cornering grip, enabling it to navigate slush and snowy terrain without any problem.
To further improve the tire’s performance on wet pavement, Goodyear added circumferential grooves as well as sweeping grooves that help reduce the effects of hydroplaning so that the tire’s handling isn’t compromised. Not enough? Winter performance is also improved with the aid of zig-zag sipes.

The tire is engineered in such a way that it retains its traction as it wears down. Not only that, but it’s also engineered to handle sudden cornering with ease.
A lot of tires claim to be effective in the snow and on wet pavement, but this tire proves it by flaunting the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) emblem, which proves that it’s built to handle severe weather conditions.
Pros:
- Superior traction on both dry and wet terrain
- Excellent performance in snow and slush
- Fantastic handling and cornering capabilities
- Effectively eliminates the risk of hydroplaning
Cons:
- Not the most budget-friendly all-season tire

Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady Tire Customer Review
Charlie S. says: “Simply put, this tire is second to none. It delivers a winter performance that’s easily on par with winter-specific tires. I’ve used it in light to moderate snow, and it performed very well. It’s also a lot more stable than a few winter tires that I tried before.”

Tony M. says: “Bought a 2018 Pathfinder, and I felt like replacing the Continental Sport LX tires that came with the vehicle because they were too slippery. A friend recommended the WeatherReady, saying it excels when it comes to wet and snowy pavements, so I gave them a go and fell in love almost instantly. This tire navigates the snow like no other all-season tire. Highly recommended!”
