While the original Grabber HTS was one of General’s most exciting all-season tires for trucks, vans, and SUVs, they improved on it with the General Grabber HTS60 in several areas, like performance, tread wear, and comfort.
As advertised by the manufacturer, the Grabber HTS60 improved wear by around 25% over the original HTS, which is a very significant percentage that many drivers will appreciate.
Like its predecessor, the HTS60 is designed for SUVs, crossovers, pickups, and vans, but it’s equipped with some of General’s latest cutting-edge technology, including DuraGen. To learn more about the tire and whether or not it’s a perfect fit for your vehicle, stick around until the end.

General Grabber HTS60 (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
Featuring General’s own DuraGen technology, the Grabber HTS60 flaunts remarkable durability and tread life. The tire utilizes a tread compound that’s highly resistant to chipping and cutting, which, combined with DuraGen technology, ensures a solid performance that will last for many years to come.
The tread pattern didn’t change much from the one that was used for the original HTS. However, you must keep in mind that the tread pattern for the metric models differs slightly from the tread pattern for the LT models.
Metric-size HTS60 tires feature a tread pattern that’s optimized to ensure improved traction and ride comfort, whereas LT-size models are optimized for great stability and grip, making them ideal for carrying heavy loads.
The tire’s traction and handling on dry terrain are improved with the aid of a continuous center rib, notched shoulders, and intermediate tread blocks. As far as handling on wet pavement is concerned, the tire features circumferential grooves and a group of sipes encircling the tread for optimal traction. When it comes to driving in snow, the tire can handle light to moderate snow.
One of the features we appreciate is the added sound barrier ribs that help minimize road noise and increase comfort. Another proprietary technology that the tire implements is Comfort Balance technology, which ensures a smoother, more comfortable ride.
Pros:
- Excellent traction and handling on dry/wet terrain
- The tire can hold its own in light to moderate snow
- Comfort Balance technology for better ride quality
- DuraGen technology boosts durability and tread life
- Starts at a reasonable price point for its capabilities
Cons:
- A bit expensive
