Firestone Destination A/T (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
Whether you’re driving an SUV or a truck, the Firestone Destination A/T should be at the top of your list when trying to select an off-road performer. Not only does this tire display exceptional handling and traction on off-road terrain, but it also flaunts an admirable on-road performance.
The feel and steering response of this tire is nothing short of impressive. It’s notably comfortable for such an aggressive looking tire. It can easily knock off some of the big dogs in its category.
We have made some special Reviews of Firestone Tire that include Review of Firestone Champion Fuel Fighter and also the Review of Firestone Destination LE2 Tires.
The tire features a sturdy tread compound that implements L.L. Carbon to boost traction and overall tread wear. This compound is also highly resistant to abrasions and cuts, which makes it perfect for off-road terrain. There are also circumferential grooves and several sipes that help reduce hydroplaning and ensure a reliable winter performance.
The only issue you might have with this tire is in its performance in deep snow. It’s perfect for light to moderate snow, but with deep snow, it really struggles. But then again, this isn’t a winter tire, so we can’t expect it to display a very impressive performance in snow.
Pros:
- Excellent grip and traction on dry and wet terrain
- Navigates all off-road terrain with absolute grace
- Provides a very comfortable driving experience
- Remarkable feel and highly responsive steering
- The tread compound is exceptionally long-lasting
Cons:
- Traction and handling in deep snow aren’t great
