Continental TrueContact Tour (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
There’s a lot to like and very little to dislike about the TrueContact. First and foremost, this is a tire that’s designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. This means that you’ll be saving a considerable amount of money that would’ve otherwise been squandered on fuel and you’ll be doing the environment a favor.
The tire utilizes an all-season tread compound that utilizes Tg-F polymers as well as +Silane additives in order to ensure optimal traction on dry and wet terrain. Further, these components help improve the tread’s lifespan.
The tread features a symmetric pattern that’s specially designed to ensure superior contact with the road, hence the name TrueContact. This grants the tire great responsiveness and handling capabilities even at higher speeds.
The Continental TrueContact Tour features 3 circumferential grooves that improve traction on wet terrain by eliminating the risk of hydroplaning. The tire also utilizes Traction Grooves and intermediate tread blocks to perform adequately in light snow. Keep in mind, however, that it’s not a winter tire, so you shouldn’t expect it to perform well in deep snow or slush.
The TrueContact Tour is also equipped with Continental’s very own ComfortRide technology, which, as the name suggests, helps enhance ride quality and reduce noise even on uneven surfaces.
