Overall Assessment

The Bridgestone EP422 Plus has an all season tread compound that utilizes their NanoPro-Tech enhancement to give the tread increased rolling resistance that results in better fuel economy in all kinds of road conditions.

Bridgestone claims that these tires deliver 23% more rolling resistance than the originals, while allowing drivers an extra 20 miles per tank. Bridgestone has incorporated symmetric tread patterns, notched shoulder blocks and enhanced center block designs which result in improved dry handling and traction. The four circumferential grooves help channel away water and reduce hydroplaning risk on wet road surfaces, while the multiple sipes addition around the tread provide increased grip and traction on snow covered roads.

On the inside of the tire, there are two steel belts that are spirally wrapped with nylon and cased in polyester that adds more strength and durability. These features also aid in the comfortability of the ride and prolonged tread life.

Bridgestone provides a 5-year or 70,000 mile treadlife warranty on the Ecopia EP422 Plus. A first 1/32 inch of wear guarantee on tire uniformity is also included.
