BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport (Our Review)
Overall Assessment
The BFGoodrich Advantage T/A is an excellent representation of what a sport tire is all about. It provides you with agile handling and steering, superior mileage, and reliable snow rating, thanks to its use of an advanced silica-fused tread compound that ensures good traction in all conditions.
This then-new tire flaunted more advanced technology that helped boost its handling, ride comfort, traction, and tread life. Its all-season touring capabilities enable it to drive over any type of terrain with absolute grace.
The tire’s silica-infused tread has a symmetrical tread pattern that helps it achieve the perfect balance between handling and traction. Further, we love how the footprint is optimized in such a way that it improves the steering response and the tire’s cornering stability, in conjunction with a continuous center rib. The purpose of the center rib is to establish a constant contact patch with the ground.
The full-depth and circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by channeling out the water on wet surfaces to improve traction and responsiveness. And to ensure reliable performance in harsh wintry conditions, the tire features 3D Sipe Active technology, which gives it extra biting edges that provide good traction in water with a 3PMSF rating.
Pros:
- Very comfortable and quiet riding experience
- Reliable snow traction for an all-season tire
- Impressive braking distances on dry terrain
- Great tread life and long-spanning warranty
- Superior steering and cornering capabilities
Cons:
- Braking distance on wet terrain is fairly long
- Not the greatest for hard, sudden cornering
Despite many advantages and super durability, the tire owners are recommended to master some basic skills, e.g. mounting and balancing tires at home.
